Saturday, March 23rd, starting at 6:30pm - Join us for a night of incredible music at the Hattiesburg Cultural Center as the Hattiesburg Arts Council hosts a spectacular fundraising event that promises to be a toe-tapping extravaganza. Get ready to move and groove to the soulful tunes of the renowned jazz and blues artist, Alphonzo Sanders. His mesmerizing melodies are sure to captivate your senses and leave you wanting more. Alphonso will be joined by the musical talents of Larry Panella, William A. Thompson, Manuel Jara, and Kyle Poehling.
Located downtown, the Hattiesburg Cultural Center provides the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable experience. Immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere, surrounded by fellow music enthusiasts and supporters of the arts. Snazzy Jook Joint attire is encouraged to fit the ambiance of the evening and decor. Your ticket includes hors d’oeuvres, and signature drinks.
Doors open at 6pm, and a drawing will take place at 8pm for a framed photograph by Betty Press. Please bring cash for $5 drawing tickets & other donation opportunities to help meet our fundraising goals.

Want to know more about swing and jive dancing for the shindig? Join us for a free pop-up on the 3rd floor the Cultural Center at 5:15pm to get a quick dance lesson before the official event begins. The lesson is hosted by USA Dance Chapter 6116.

“The Importance of Southern Jook Joints” will be delivered by Dr. Alphonzo Sanders, March 23rd, from 10-11:30am.
This interactive talk is free and open to the public. Coffee and pastries will be provided.
Location: Hattiesburg Cultural Center, 723 North Main Street, Downtown. Parking and elevator access is available in the rear of the Hattiesburg Cultural Center and additional parking across the street at the HCAC (the former Hattiesburg American Newspaper Building).
