“Wiggle Genius’ mission is to show K12 students and teachers alike all that dance is and can be in learning. An ideal partner in the instruction of any academic subject, and a method of teaching that naturally and directly incorporates all social and emotional competencies, learning by moving ensures that instruction involves critical thinking, collaboration, and community that integrates the mind with the body and puts creative and discovery based learning in the lead. Wiggle Genius also produces K12 outreach shows that bring to life a specific theme in student’s lives, such as learning to be unique and celebrating diversity in others. Through a combination of storytelling, student interactive experiences, and performed excerpts from choreographed dance works by accomplished dancers, K12 students experience the power of dance for themselves while also learning more about themselves through the process. Dance is entertaining but it also has the power to transform – perspectives, learning, and the students’ themselves. It is a student’s first language in life and one that unites us all. Wiggle Genius outreach concerts remind audience members that they are also dancers and how movement is so essential in all parts of their lives.”
